There’s something about a photograph that gets past the part of us that edits before we’ve even started writing. Journaling alone can invite the inner critic in fast, but an image asks something different of you first: you make meaning of it before you’ve had time to filter it. That’s the doorway this workshop uses. You’ll bring a photo that has been sitting with you, one that connects to something you’ve been circling but haven’t quite put into words, and we’ll spend the morning giving it the attention it deserves.

We’ll start with something simple: what’s something you love or appreciate about yourself right now? From there, the morning opens into a second question, one with a little more room in it: what, in your life, feels like it’s shifting right now, or calling for your attention? You’ll work through a photo-journaling process that pairs a chosen image with guided writing, then a step that pulls a handful of words out of what you’ve written, the part that tends to surface what you didn’t know you were circling. There’s research behind why this works, something about how an image invites a different kind of thinking than a blank page does, but you don’t need to know any of that to feel it happen.

By the end, you’ll leave with more than a nice morning. You’ll have a practice you can return to on your own, whenever you need a way back into clarity, and a small taste of what it feels like to sit in a room full of women doing that quiet work together.

Space is intentionally kept small, so registration is limited.
